Has Covid 19 broken the Supply Chain?

July 29, 2020

I just want to give an update on what I’ve been up to during the COVID-19 roller coaster.

We are doing our best to stay safe here in Miami.

For those of you who know me well, it’s been over four months since I’ve been on a business trip or an airplane. I haven’t been home this much in nearly ten years, and it’s been incredible!

Besides helping my clients, what have I’ve been up to?

Finally, I’ve been able to have time to eat healthy and establish an exercise routine. The net effect, I’ve lost 26.5 pounds and haven’t felt this good in years.

I’ve always said that I wanted to write a book. I’m neck-deep into it. Right now, the title is “The Art of Scuba Diving and Supply Chain Management.” I have 13 chapters completed and planning on completing the final five to six by the end of August.

During the past month, I was a panel member for Florida Atlantic University (FAU) School of Business webinar on “Has COVID-19 broken the Supply Chain? Where do we go from here?” FAU has just been approved by the State of Florida to offer a Masters of Supply Chain Management. Excellent job to the FAU Team.

Additionally, 6 Rivers Systems just quoted me in their white paper on “The Biggest Mistake Made with Inventory Management (and how to avoid them).” Both the panel discussion and white paper were a lot of fun and was an honor to be part of their processes.

Moving onto COVID-19. I know these are challenging times. However, I’m optimistic about the future. Remember, the roaring twenties were after the Spanish flu pandemic.

Need to run. We have a tropical storm/hurricane, Isaias, knocking at the door, and I need to get the house buttoned down.
